Sid Sharp: Bog Myrtle

Illustration workshop

On one of her walks, the kind-hearted Beatrice meets the fabled Bog Myrtle, a sinister forest creature. But soon she discovers that Myrtle is far less frightening than rumor has it—Myrtle even offers Beatrice her magical yarn to knit with. When Beatrice’s grumpy sister finds out, events take a turn for the unexpected—even without magic. Quirky and whimsical, this fairy-tale graphic novel explores how consumerism and exploitation harm both our society and the natural world.

What happens in the workshop?

Based on the story of the kind-hearted Beatrice in “Bog Myrtle”, the pupils will use natural materials to illustrate their own gift for their favorite people.
