Jasmine Warga: A Rover’s Story

Drawing & Typography

Res is a rover built for Mars exploration – not for emotions. But as Rania and her NASA colleagues prepare him for his mission, he begins to develop feelings. The story is told alternately from the perspective of the curious robot and through letters from Rania’s daughter Sophie, who has mixed feelings about her mother’s work. An exciting space adventure that offers a fascinating glimpse into human nature through the eyes of a robot.

What happens in the workshop?

Machine with a heart: What distinguishes us humans from the curious Mars robot Res – and can machines feel emotions or even friendship? Can robots help us to better understand our world? In this workshop, we want to take a look at ourselves together and discover why it sometimes takes a hero like Res to show us how special our Earth is – and that perhaps robots can be more than just program code.
