Illustration and Writing Workshop
Time and time again, a grandfather must cross an infamous mountain. According to legend, anyone who falls while crossing it has only three years left to live. When the grandfather trips and his health begins to decline, only his granddaughter can help him—using a simple trick. Based on a Korean folktale, this witty and vividly illustrated book explores what a shift in perspective can mean.
What happens in the workshop?
Based on the experimental illustration style of Dayeon Auh, the students paint their own mountain with acrylic paint, wax crayons and colored pencils. We use them to build a mountain range and integrate short texts about their own idea of a long, happy life.
