Beaucoup d’entre nous connaissent Blanche-Neige et sa méchante belle-mère grâce au conte des frères Grimm. Dans cette adaptation très visuelle, c’est la reine elle-même qui raconte l’histoire de sa jalousie, accompagnée d’illustrations à la composition originale dans lesquelles gravitent des personnages déformés et parfois inquiétants. Les images sombres d’Alemagna, parsemées à quelques endroits de couleurs vives, s’étendent sur plusieurs pages et racontent leur propre version non conventionnelle de l’histoire.
Snow White and her wicked stepmother are familiar to many of us from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. In this visually striking adaptation, the queen herself tells the story of her jealousy, accompanied by bold, surreal visual compositions, in which distorted and sometimes eerie figures abound. Alemagna’s dark illustrations, occasionally punctuated by bursts of vibrant color, span multiple pages at a time, presenting a unique retelling of the classic tale.
