born in 1975 in Kent, England, studied philosophy and creative writing at Bath Spa University and is currently a Reader in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. She is the author of several novels, including »The Wilderness«, »Dear Thief« and »The Western Wind«. Her memoir »The Shapeless Unease« details Harvey’s struggles with insomnia. Harvey’s books have been shortlisted for the Orange Prize, the Guardian First Book Award, and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Her most recent work, »Orbital«, was awarded the Booker Prize 2024. Harvey lives in Bath.
