
Katja Riemann

Born in 1963 in Kirchweyhe, Germany, she is one of the most renowned actresses in the German-speaking world. She is at home in both commercial and arthouse film, performs in theatre, and makes music. She appeared in, among others, »Der bewegte Mann« [1994, R: Sönke Wortmann], »Fack ju Göhte« [2013, R: Bora Dagtekin] and »Stella. Ein Leben.« [2023, R: Kilian Riedhof]. For her commitment as a UNICEF ambassador, she was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Band (Federal Cross of Merit) in 2010. She has written non-fiction books about her humanitarian work: »Zeit der Zäune. Orte der Flucht« [2024] and »Jeder hat. Niemand darf. Projektreisen« [2020]. Her first novel, »Nebel und Feuer«, was published in 2025; it tells the story of a woman whose life falls apart and who, after a suicide attempt, throws herself back into life, into relationships, into everyday existence. Katja Riemann lives in Berlin.
