Fritz Espenlaub is a journalist and podcast host whose work has appeared on Bayerischer Rundfunk and ARD, among other outlets. He studied Philosophy & Economics at the University of Bayreuth and previously worked for organizations including the OECD in Paris. His journalism focuses on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and social change. In 2025, he hosted the Deutschlandfunk series «Die Peter Thiel Story», which has garnered more than eight million streams, making it one of Germany’s most successful podcasts in recent years. In 2026, the series received the Concordia Award for Press Freedom. It was followed that same year by the six-part Deutschlandfunk podcast series «Die OpenAI Story». Since 2023, he has also co-hosted ARD’s «Der KI-Podcast» alongside Gregor Schmalzried and Marie Kilg. Fritz Espenlaub lives in Munich.
