In his novel »Der Lebenslauf eines schwarzweißen Lamms« (tr: The Life Story of a Black and White Lamb), Tomáš Zmeškal tells the coming-of-age story of a pair of twins of multi-ethnic heritage in Czechoslovakia between 1960 and 1990. This is the first time that the experiences of people with African origins in East European Communist regimes has been dealt with in a Czech novel.
