Sjón (Iceland) The Icelandic multi-talent published his first collection of poems when he was 15. He studied Art, played in Björk's band Sugarcubes and still writes many of her lyrics. His début as a novelist came in 2004.
José F. A. Oliver (Germany) The son of Spanish Gastarbeiter (guest workers) refers to himself as a »Black Forest Andalusian«. Influenced by the musicality of his parents' language and the Alemannic dialect of his home, he investigates the semantic boundaries of the German language.
At times ironic and at times melancholic, István Kemény (Hungary) stalks historical secrets: by making use of traditional symbols, the poet creates surreal realms which are still bound to historical reality.
Israel Bar-Kohav (Israel): In his melancholic poems the experiences of the conflict-ridden life in his home country are always present. Bar-Kohav is active as a mediator between Israelis and Palestinians.
