On the 13th of March in 1856, Charles Baudelaire described a dream in which he walked through a brothel. The Italian author and publisher Roberto Calasso recognised the signs of modern life in the description of this brothel. Baudelaire was the first to address these signs and portray them literarily. In his book »La Folie Baudelaire« Calasso follows these signs to the »furthest extent and most secret and hidden corners of the artistic soul and its poetry« (»Süddeutsche Zeitung«). By doing so, he creates a literary world exhibition of the nineteenth century.
This event will be held in English and will be simultaneously interpreted into German.
