Two new voices in German literature: Katja Petrowskaja and Lisa Kränzler. Petrowskaja is the author of the FAS column »Die west-östliche Diva« (tr: The West-Eastern Diva), and won the 2013 Bachmann-Competition with an extract from her novel »Vielleicht Esther« (tr. Maybe Esther). Lisa Kränzler’s highly praised novel »Nachhinein« (tr: Hindsight) is about the complex and difficult friendship between two young women, one of whom grows up sheltered, loved and rebellious; the other, poor, assaulted and abused.
