Summer break at last! Konrad and his parents take a trip to the Atlantic coast in France. Unfortunately, Konrad’s irritating cousin Lisbeth decides to come along. The trip takes an unexpected turn when the two of them find an old bunker on the beach that interests a surprising amount of people. The bunker supposedly contains a treasure. Konrad and Lisbeth combine efforts in order to try and crack the mystery. FINSTERER SOMMER is a humorous, thoughtful and suspenseful book about an extraordinary vacation. Martina Wildner, who is a guest at the ilb for the second time, will be presenting the novel as part of the ilb project “Reading the Currents”. “A cheerful book full of funny scenes portraying the absurdities and stress factors of normal family life – and a book of remarkable psychological depth” (Sieglinde Geisel, Neue Züricher Zeitung).
